» Samui Wildlife
For a great taste of traditional Samui wildlife, one can witness one of the many buffalo fights that often take place during Thai festivals. As there is no rice farming on Samui anymore, the buffaloes are put to use in this relatively harmless form of entertainment. The fight involves only two male buffaloes who battle it out until one turns away and gives in. Rarely are the animals injured and more often than not it is only pride that is hurt. The fights make for a thrilling attraction as locals gamble furiously on the outcome of the event that takes place in a number of stadiums on the island.
