Introduction to Samui Restaurants
Few destinations in Thailand can boast the International appeal of Koh Samui. A
tranquil paradise island, gently lapped by the azure seas of the Gulf of Thailand.

native fishing fleet. This means that all types of sea fish including tuna, mackerel
and snapper, along with shellfish and squid, are all extremely fresh. For the very
best dining experience, you may wish to try your fresh seafood, whilst sitting upon
the sand in one of the many beach restaurants in Lamai or Chaweng. Arguably these
restaurants produce some of the best seafood to be found within Thailand.

If you are not a great lover of the local Thai fare, then you will be pleased to
know that Koh Samui boasts a huge selection of International restaurants catering
to every taste. No matter what your fancy, from Mexican to Lebanese, Koh Samui can
provide for it. Some of the tastiest international dishes can be found in the Western
style steak houses, which serve imported steaks, as well as other Western favorites.
These are popular with families, as there is always something to be found on the
menu to suit everyone, no matter what age.
Dining with Children
Koh Samui has many family friendly restaurants, especially in the more popular tourist
areas such as Chaweng beach, Lamai beach, Maenam and Bhoput. Many of these restaurants
serve a children's menu, as well as western favorites for the adult party members.
You should however, encourage your children to try the tasty, healthy Thai dishes
that are available everywhere. Thai food does not need to be spicy, simply as for
a dish "mai phet", which means not spicy, and enjoy the Thai flavor without
the chili burn.
No matter where you decide to stay upon Koh Samui, you will find an abundance of
exceptional restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Koh Samui is a world class
holiday destination, and it proves this point by providing some of the tastiest,
best value food to be found in any tourist area of Thailand. It must be said, that
the local seafood is definitely the highlight of Koh Samui cuisine, yet there are
many excellent traditional Western options, alongside Thai dishes, to be found as
well.
