Introduction

Kandalina Mediterranean Restaurant is new in that it offers Mediterranean cuisine that includes a nightly salad bar. The Kandalina is also home to an excellent wine cellar and the restaurant offers guests the chance to enjoy a sophisticated and elegant dining experience. The restaurant is situated in the fabulous Kandaburi Resort which offers a fantastic beachfront location as well as tropical gardens so that guests can enjoy the very best of the islands scenery. You can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the gardens or the fun in the sun at the beach which is always filled with sun worshipers.

Location

The restaurant is located in the Kandaburi Resort which is situated in the northern part of Chaweng Beach. The restaurant is very easy to find and it is possible to walk to the restaurant from the centre of Chaweng. For people who may not fancy the walk in the heat a taxi is only a short drive to the resort.

Menu

The menu is well suited to the beautiful surroundings of the restaurant and the fine quality of the décor is more than matched by the excellent cuisine. The Tiger prawn aspic is served with a lemon and carrot mousseline, carrot and beetroot crisp and mixed salad leaves with vanilla oil. A dish with a bit of a difference is the Australian lamb rack crust with mint pesto. It comes with vegetables, chick peas falafel and a almond and soft garlic cappuccino. A prime dish is that of the roasted sole fillet with lemon confit, served on a carrot gremolata mash with fresh rosemary and orange sauce.

Kandalina Mediterranean Restaurant is not confined to only Mediterranean dishes and the wine cellar adds a bit more class to the entire scene. There are fine selections of wines from France, Australia, Chile and South Africa that blend well with the cuisine. The value for money at the restaurant is excellent and it has to be one of the better places in Chaweng. The restaurant is open from 6.00pm to 11.00pm. There is also entertainment in the high season starting October.
