Introduction

The Full Moon Italian Restaurant has been awarded the Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator magazine and this has been awarded for the fourth year in a row. The restaurant offers diners a unique experience in that the restaurant is set in a spectacular location. The restaurant has been cantilevered above the swimming pool and a lit waterway that snakes through the gardens. This gives diners a superb attraction to marvel at. There are three terraces that interlock and they are from the lowest level the pool bar and then two floors of dining space. Once you have finished marvelling at the restaurant it is good to know that the cuisine is of the same high standard.

Location

The Full Moon Restaurant is located at the Anantara Resort & Spa which is only 10 minutes from the airport. The Fisherman's village at Bophut is adjacent to the resort and it is only a further 15 minutes to Chaweng. Lamai is a little bit further than Chaweng but is still easy to get to.

Menu

There is a magnificent menu to choose from including the piece de resistance the Prime Angus Double Rib which is a special meal for two. This is an oven roasted rib of beef that is marinated with sun dried tomatoes, olive tapenade and rosemary and presented with garlic potatoes, and mixed vegetables. The Full Moon experience is added to your meal with a Caesar Salad that is prepared next to your table in the classic form. The menu is very Mediterranean in style and this can be seen in Ciopini which is a chowder of tiger prawns, saffron and a crisp chilli panini.

It is still very good value for money and it is a perfect setting with its ocean view. The average cost per person on eating out is £18 but a bottle of the house wine will cost £31.
