Due to its quieter and more family orientated atmosphere, Maenam beach doesn't offer anything compared to the crazy and often chaotic party scene available at Chaweng beach, but there are still a lot of places to hang out and have a good time during your evenings.
Bars and restaurants
Although considerably quieter than other beaches, Maenam still offers good choice of bars and restaurants located right on the waterfront.
Taksin Lounge
A nice and pleasant venue with a friendly atmosphere, this place is a great choice for travellers with children in tow. Thanks to its friendly staff, delicious food and a fine choice of drinks you can while away the evening hours here while enjoying live performances from a very goods house band.
Rim Talay Beach Bar
For a complete tropical island paradise experience, Rim Talay is located amidst a scattering of coconut palms and serves great snack meals, sea food and cocktails. Probably Maenam's most popular venue, they offer nightly entertainment in the form of dancers, fire breathers, magicians and other performers.
Napasai Pool Bar
A nice, friendly venue located poolside at the Napasai Resort, this pool bar is another good option for those wanting to relax and watch the night go by. Although the prices are a bit pricey, Napasai Pool Bar offers entertainment in the form of singers, live performance acts and even karaoke on some nights to make it a worthwhile venture.
The Lazy Coconut
Easily the trendiest, truest pub at Maenam beach, The Lazy Coconut is one of the livelier places and is a must visit if you feel you are missing out on the action. The Lazy Coconut is a very big place and can get quite busy at night, especially on weekends due to the occasional DJ and live band performances. They also offer a great menu and one of the biggest selections of beer you'll find on Koh Samui, featuring popular German, Dutch and American brews. The Lazy Coconut probably the best choice on Maenam beach if you want some friendly chat, a few games of pool and the opportunity to strut your stuff on the dance floor.
Others
A few of the bigger resort hotels at Maenam beach offer decent restaurants and nightly entertainment which can be a great option for one or more nights of your stay.
Paradise Beach Resort
The high-end Roma and Paradise Restaurant at Paradise Beach Resort is surely worth a look. A hugely spacious and always popular place, attendance can swell to as many as 200 customers on some nights. Roma and Paradise offers entertainment shows every night of the week, ranging from stand up comedians to singers to cabaret performances. Here, an enjoyable night out for you and your family awaits.
Paradise Beach Resort also offers an enjoyable Pool Bar, which is a great place to come and enjoy drinks and some banter with friends, play a few games of pool and chat with the friendly staff and customers. Although slightly pricey, the friendly and chilled out atmosphere makes it a worthwhile choice for a pleasant night out.
The resort also has a number of boutiques and shops that are open quite late, a perfect option for night owls who love to shop.
