The nightlife at Lamai beach is not quite on the same scale as that of Chaweng, yet for thrill seekers and revelers there is still a lot of action to be had here. Lamai has a wealth of bars, restaurants and clubs on its main strip, where you can find live music, great food and jumping discos if you want to party those nights away. Additionally, Lamai also offers numerous go go bars for revelers and drinkers seeking something special in evenings.
Bars and restaurants
The best areas for action in Lamai are the row of establishments directly on the beach or those on the main drag that runs parallel to the beach.
Chill In
The Chill In restaurant is located directly on the beach and is always a popular venue for families, tourists and even locals to chill out thanks to its relaxing vibe and soothing music. The menu offers both Thai and western food as well as a good selection of beers and cocktails. Chill In also offers a variety of seating arrangements from hammocks to bamboo chairs to cushions, so it's a great place to come if you want a laid back night watching the world go by.
Buddy Beer Samui
Lamai's largest beach bar & restaurant shows live music and entertainment in an open air venue just a few meters away from the sea. Buddy Beer also offers some great food choices for hungry holiday makers including barbecue, seafood and local cuisine. They continue serving food all night, so it's one of the best choices to come feast and drink a beer or two.
Shamrock Pub
Shamrock is a traditional Irish pub that serves a very reasonable pint of Guinness as one of its main attractions. It also offers live rock bands nightly and broadcasts live football whenever a game is on making it very popular with sports fans. Shamrock also features pool tables, darts and plentiful amount of good pub food to keep customers happy and drinking until the small hours of the morning.
For those so inclined, there are also numerous go go bars dotted around the main street. You can spot them easily as there will always be smiling, friendly Thai girls hanging around outside just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting tourists. If you look around, you may even be able to catch some lady mud wrestling action in some of these places!
Clubs
While nowhere near as abundant as in Chaweng beach, there are one or two good spots for party goers and revelers to hang out and dance away all night.
Fusion
Lamai's biggest and busiest nightclub is located on the main street and is one of your best bets if you're looking for all night action. Fusion plays a mix of acid house, funky jazz and occasional hip hop which is perfectly suited to the dark atmosphere. Due to the fact Fusion is Lamai's only after hours venue, it's always packed and jumping with clubbers nearly every night of the week. Admission prices comes with a free drink.
Super Sub Club
This club is just around the corner from Fusion and is another good choice for dance freaks. Super Sub Club boasts a different vibe however as it offers more of a dance and techno mix and has a very swanky and plush interior design. Door prices vary greatly depending on the night and come with one free drink.
