Lamai Hotels and Lamai Resorts in Koh Samui
Visitors to the island of Koh Samui really are spoilt for choice when it comes to
resorts to stay in and a choice of wonderful beaches. The island is about 52 kilometres
in radius and has too many beaches to name. The main resorts are all situated on
some lovely stretches of sand and Lamai resorts are a example of being located along these idyllic beaches.
Have less Lamai hotels, the town is a smaller and slightly more sedate version
of Chaweng. In recent years Lamai has upgraded its image and now is a much cleaner
and fun town and much more family friendly. The beach itself is about 20 metres
in width most of the way along and reaches about 2 kilometres. The sand is golden
and warm and the entire beach is fringed with palm trees. The water at Lamai beach
is a little deeper than the neighbouring Chaweng. It gets deep rather quickly and
can have some stronger currents so you do need to be an able swimmer in choppy seas.

There is plenty of activities for you to partake in during your Lamai holiday, with bars and restaurants alongside
the length of it so you can sip a cocktail while listening to the waves and music
playing. There are also water sports such as jet skis available for the more adventurous.
The accommodation in Lamai is wide and varied and you can find cheap Lamai beach
resorts at twenty dollars a night to really high end five star Lamai villas and Lamai spa that run into
the thousands of dollars a night!
When you come away from the beach front you will be on Lamai Beach Road. This is
the main spot to do all your shopping, eating out and drinking in the evening. There
are plenty of restaurants to choose from serving not just Thai food, but every possible
type of cuisine you can imagine. There are also a couple of great market areas to
stroll around in the evening and buy all your souvenirs and gifts from. You can
really get some great bargains and impress your friends and family with gifts!
Once you have eaten and shopped, there are plenty of bars to visit, including one
area of infamous girlie bars. If this is not your idea of fun then there are plenty
of alternate locations to have a beer or two. The cabaret show is a great evening
out for anyone in Lamai beach and should you want to stay out later there are several
new nightclubs now opened that will let you party until the early hours.
